MCP (Model Context Protocol) Setup Guide

MCP is an innovative feature of AI Simple Note that, with your permission, allows external AI to understand your personal context to provide more accurate and personalized responses. Learn how to activate and configure the MCP feature with this guide.

1. Activate MCP Feature (In-App Settings)

1. Launch AI Simple Note App: Ensure it is updated to the latest version.
2. Enter Settings Menu: Navigate to the settings screen via the ‘Settings’ tab at the bottom or the side menu.
3. Find MCP Settings: Look for a menu item like ‘AI Integration’ or ‘MCP Settings’ and tap it.
4. Enable MCP Toggle: Turn on the ‘Activate MCP Feature’ toggle to enable the functionality.
5. Consent to Data Access: When activating MCP, a pop-up will ask for your consent for external AI to access your to-do data. Please read the contents carefully and tap ‘Agree’ if you consent.
   • Important: Your data will never be shared with external AI without your explicit consent. You can withdraw your consent at any time in the settings.

2. Integrate with External AI Services (Example: ChatGPT)

Since MCP is a universal protocol, it can be integrated with various external AI services that support it. Here, we describe a general integration process. (This may vary depending on the policies of each AI service.)

1. Access External AI Service: Go to the website or app of the AI service you want to integrate with (e.g., ChatGPT).
2. Configure Plugins/Extensions: Navigate to the settings or plugin/extension management menu of the AI service.
3. Add AI Simple Note MCP Plugin: Find and add the ‘AI Simple Note MCP’ plugin or connector.
4. Enter API Key (if required): You may be asked to enter an API key issued from the AI Simple Note app’s MCP settings screen into the external AI service. This key is used to securely connect your data.
5. Integration Complete: Once the setup is complete, the external AI service can now use your AI Simple Note data as contextual information to provide more personalized answers.

3. MCP Data Management and Security

• Data Sovereignty: Your data is always under your control. The data shared via MCP includes your to-dos, notes, tags, etc., recorded in AI Simple Note, which is the minimum information necessary for the AI to understand your context.
• Withdraw Consent: You can disable the feature or disconnect from a specific AI service at any time in the AI Simple Note app’s MCP settings to stop data sharing.
• Encryption: Encrypted communication (HTTPS/SSL) is always used for data transmission to enhance security.
