How exactly does the Claude Code sync work?

Run claude mcp add ainote on each machine. Your CLAUDE.md, ~/.claude/skills/, MEMORY.md, and session handoffs sync automatically over a git-backed vault with HLC last-write-wins conflict resolution.

Does it bypass the MEMORY.md 200-line cap?

Yes. AI Simplenote stores your memory in topic-split files referenced from MEMORY.md, so the index stays under the 200-line limit while the actual content is unlimited.

Works with Cursor / Codex CLI / Gemini CLI?

Yes. AI Simplenote is exposed as an MCP server, so any MCP-compatible agent (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, Windsurf, Cline) reads and writes the same memory.

What is "session handoff"?

A short note saved at the end of a session (auto-generated or manual) that captures where you stopped — files touched, next steps, known traps. On another device, @ainote handoff_get restores the same context in under 5 minutes.

Is my data secure?

End-to-end encrypted, never used for ads or model training, region pinning available, complete deletion within 24h of cancellation.
